Sing a Song

Cheer the Year
(Tune: "Row, row, row your boat")

Cheer, cheer, cheer the year,

A new one's just begun.

Celebrate with all your friends,

Let's go have some fun!

Clap, clap, clap your hands,

A brand new year is here.

Learning, laughing, singing, clapping,

Through another year.

Learn New Year's Resolutions with Elmo!

Try This

Discuss with your child what a New Year's Resolution is and brainstorm different child-friendly resolutions. A New Year's Resolution is a goal you'd like to get done or a good habit you'd like to form. Examples include putting their toys away after they are finished, trying more fruits and vegetables, and I will be nice to someone who looks sad. Have your child draw a picture of them doing their New Year's Resolution and you can write down the resolution at the bottom. Share the drawing with them next year and reflect on how much they have grown over the past year.
